Squash Canada Announces 2010 World University Championships Team

Squash Canada is pleased to announce the 2010 World University Squash Championships team that will be competing in Melbourne Australia July 11 – 17, 2010.

The 5 person team will consist of 3 males and 2 females and include both the male and female 2010 Black Knight Canadian University & College Champions as well as both the male and female 2010 College Squash Association (US College Squash) Individual Champions.
 
The team members are:

Laura Gemmell – A 1st year student at Harvard University, she is from Toronto Ontario. Laura is one of the most decorated junior squash players in Canadian squash history. Laura helped lead the 2009 World Junior Women’s Championships team to a 5th place finish in Chennai, India. Laura is the 2010 College Squash Association Individual champion. Laura is a member of Squash Canada’s Senior Women’s National Squad.

Micaala Seth – A 2nd year student at the University of Waterloo, she is from Fergus Ontario. Micaala is the 2010 Women’s Open champion from the Black Knight Canadian University & College Championships.

Adrian Dudzicki – A 3rd year student at the University of Ottawa, he is from Ottawa Ontario. Adrian is the 2010 Men’s Open champion from the Black Knight Canadian University & College Championships.

Fred Reid – A 2nd year student at Ryerson University, he is from Toronto Ontario. Fred
was part of the 2008 World University Championships team that finished 4th in Cairo, Egypt. Fred is currently ranked 181st on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Rankings and he is a member of Squash Canada’s Espoir Men’s National Squad.

Colin West – A 4th year student at Harvard University, he is from Toronto Ontario. Colin was part of the 2008 World University Championships team that finished 4th in Cairo, Egypt. Colin is the 2010 College Squash Association Individual champion and he is a member of Squash Canada’s Espoir Men’s National Training Squad.

The team will be lead by Winnipeg’s Trevor Borland. Trevor has previously coached the 2008 Panamerican Junior Championships team and is currently the Women’s National Program assistant coach.
