Q. What is Squash Day in Canada?
A. It’s a national celebration of the sport of squash that’s aimed at encouraging Canadians to pick up a racquet and play! Participating clubs and courts across Canada will open their doors to host free squash activities to engage players of all ages and abilities. Events are open to seasoned squash enthusiasts, rookies and everyone in between.

A. We’ve partnered with clubs and courts all across Canada to offer programming in every province and territory. Search our list of participating clubs to find a Squash Day in Canada event near you!

Can’t find a program? Contact us to let us know where you live and how you’d like to participate and we’ll help you find a court on September 30th. Don’t forget to register for the ParticipACTION Canada 150 Play List so that you can check ‘squash’ off your list of 150 activities to be completed in 2017.

Q. Who can participate?
A. EVERYONE! Squash is an activity that can be enjoyed by all. Bring a friend (or 50 friends), grab your family members, co-workers, roommates and neighbours to head over to a local squash court where you can take a lesson, jump on a court, buy a membership, or sign-up for a fall program. Squash offers something for all ages and abilities, able-bodied, wheelchair players, fit and toned athletes and those of us in need of burning a few extra calories now and then. No judgement!

Q. I have never played squash – I have no equipment.
A. No equipment – no problem! Most of our participating clubs and courts will have equipment on hand for you to test out on September 30th! Come as you are – no special gear required.

Q. Why should I try squash?
A. Why not!? Squash is a sport that is increasing in popularity in Canada because it provides an opportunity for lifelong participation. Canadians from age 5 to 105 are enjoying the social, physical and health benefits associated with squash. It’s a year-round sport available to all!

Q. I’m in. How do I participate?
A. If you’re a club or venue with a squash court, register to be listed as one of our participating locations. You’ll receive our free tool kit and support to help you get your Squash Day in Canada activities off the ground.

If you’re an individual or group looking for a place to play on September 30th, check out our listing of participating clubs and then contact them directly to confirm your plans to attend. If it’s a last minute game-day decision that’s okay too! Most of our participating clubs/venues are opening their doors on September 30th in the hopes of meeting new people and sharing their love of squash.
