The 2018 Pan American Junior Squash Championships are fast approaching, and Canada is ready! From June 17-23, the best players from the Caribbean, North, South and Central America will meet in Brasilia, Brazil to battle it out at the Capital Squash Center.

Each member of the team has posted very impressive results over the last year. Ryan Picken is currently the number 1 ranked junior across Canada, while Charlotte Orcutt captured the 2017 Girls U17 national title. Dominic Wren has already been victorious at one international event this year when he was crowned the 2018 Scottish Junior Open Champion. Rising star, Sarah Cao, also joins the squad. At the age of 14, she will be one of the youngest players to ever represent Canada at the Pan American Junior Championships.
“Squash Canada is very excited to be able to field such a strong team for these Championships”, said executive director Dan Wolfenden. “These players have made a huge commitment to be able to represent Canada, to bring home some medals, and to help springboard their bright development. It bodes well for 2019, when Squash Canada will host these championships at Mayfair Club Lakeshore in Toronto in June of next year.”
Squash Canada would also like to thank the individuals who very generously donated over $10,000 to help fund player participation. These donations are what make it possible for young athletes to travel internationally and represent Canadian squash.
