World University Championships Canadian Team Announced

    OTTAWA (ON) – The 8th World University Squash Championships will take place from September 1 – 7 in Chennai, India this year. The tournament will consist of individual Men’s and Women’s competition as well as a mixed team competition. This year the squad will consist of the following three athletes:

    OTTAWA (ON) – The 8th World University Squash Championships will take place from September 1 – 7 in Chennai, India this year. The tournament will consist of individual Men’s and Women’s competition as well as a mixed team competition. This year the squad will consist of the following three athletes:

    Cameron Seth- Cameron is a 3rd year Mathematics student at the University of Waterloo. Seth is currently ranked 27th among Men in Canada and finished 3rd in February’s Canadian University and College Championships. In 2012 he competed on the World Junior National Team in Doha, Qatar.

    James Van Staveren- Currently ranked 36th in Canada James is a 4th year Financial Economics Student studying at Western University. This will be his first time representing Canada in an International Squash Competition.

    Alix Younger – Younger is in her first year of study at Winnipeg Technical College enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician Program. She is ranked 9th in Canada and is coming off a big win at the 2014 Canadian University and College Championships.

    Alix’s father Stephen Younger will be travelling to India with the athletes as the team leader.
