OTTAWA, ON, January 3, 2019 – After three days of amazing squash, Canada leaves Scotland with 4 medals!
In the Boys Under 13 category, Youssef Sarhan battled through the tournament to earn himself a silver medal. Youssef performed extremely well in the semi-final, defeating Freddie Jameson of New Zealand 3-0. He advanced to the final, where he was defeated by Syed Anas Ali of Pakistan 3-0.

In the Boys Under 13 category, Youssef Sarhan battled through the tournament to earn himself a silver medal. Youssef performed extremely well in the semi-final, defeating Freddie Jameson of New Zealand 3-0. He advanced to the final, where he was defeated by Syed Anas Ali of Pakistan 3-0.
In the Girls Under 15 category, the Eltorgman sisters dominated the category and came home with two medals. Farida and Malak played a very close game in the semi-final, but it was Malak who would eventually win the fifth game and advance to the Championship. Malak then played Akari Midorikawa of Japan and defeated her in 5 games, winning Canada’s first gold medal at this years event. In the 3/4 match, Farida defeated Jessica Shaw of Scotland 3-0 to claim the bronze medal.
In the Boys Under 19 category, Darosham Khan cruised through his semi-final game winning 3-0 over England’s Max Forster. Darosham continued demonstrating top quality squash to overcome Rutvik Rau of India in the finals, winning 3-0 to capture yet another gold medal for Canada!
Overall the event was a success for Canadian squash, and we wish our players the best of luck at the British Junior Open being held from January 2-6th!
