Edward was a graduate of the McMaster University Science program and subsequently the Faculty of Education at the University of Toronto. He was a decorated teacher with the Peel District School Board for over 30 years, educating students at Chinguacousy and Mayfield Secondary Schools. During his time as a teacher, Edward was also involved in many school sports and took great pride in coaching a variety of teams including cross country running, volleyball and swimming. An athlete in his own right, Edward was very active and fit throughout his life. An avid squash player and member of the Regency Racquets Club and a triathlete with his beloved “Hooterville” team, Edward enjoyed many wonderful sporting experiences in his time. In his retirement, he got to spend more time on the golf course and enjoyed hitting the links with his family and friends. A fighter to the very end, Edward battled illness and beat the odds for more than 10 years.
