Chris joins Squash Canada from Squash Ontario where he served as Competitions Manager for 2 years, overseeing all aspects of the Junior Tournament Pathway alongside the Coaching and Officiating Programs. Prior to this he was the Tournament Director for the Squash Competition at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. After completing a Sports and Exercise Science degree at the University of Birmingham he competed on the PSA Tour for 6 years, achieving a highest world ranking of 116.

“I’m delighted to join the Squash Canada team and be able to work on delivering some major events around Canada, utilizing the Glass Court, and looking forward to working with the Provincial and Territorial squash associations and other stakeholders within the game in Canada,” shared Truswell. “Squash is a real passion of mine and I’m excited to be able to give back to the sport that has given me so much.”

Chris will be responsible for the overall management of Squash Canada’s event properties including, but not limited to, the Canadian Men’s and Women’s Opens, the Canadian Junior and Senior Squash Championships, the Canadian Junior Open, the Canadian Doubles Championship and more. As the Director, Events, Chris will work with various hosting committees, volunteers, contractors, sanctioning bodies, and provincial and territorial partners to ensure the successful delivery of these events. His responsibilities around these events include operations, logistics, communications, venue management, partnerships, digital broadcasting, officiating, grant writing and reporting, sport safety, and more.
