Squash Manitoba Executive Director Lynn Colliou to Retire After 25 Years

Squash Canada joins the entire Canadian squash community in celebrating the retirement of Lynn Colliou, who has served as the Executive Director of Squash Manitoba since 2000. As a passionate advocate for sport, Colliou leaves behind a remarkable legacy in squash and sport leadership.

Colliou’s journey with sport stemmed from a love for competition. As a high school basketball player and two-time marathoner, she studied Recreation at the University of Manitoba. After university, she worked at numerous sport organizations like the Special Olympics Manitoba, the Manitoba Marathon, Curl Manitoba, and Manitoba Artistic Swimming (formerly Synchronized Swimming), where she built and developed programs from the ground up.

While she never played squash, Lynn brought her vast experience to squash and never looked back. She became a driving force behind operations, events and programming, and funding efforts which helped grow the sport in Manitoba. One of her major achievements as Executive Director has been her leadership in the development of new squash courts at the University of Manitoba. The university will be home to a state-of-the-art facility with four glass-back courts and a viewing gallery, a first of its kind in southern Winnipeg.

In recognition of her remarkable contributions and unwavering determination, Squash Canada extends its heartfelt thanks to Lynn Colliou. Her tireless efforts have left an enduring mark on squash in Manitoba and across the country. Her legacy will continue to inspire athletes, sport leaders, and communities for generations to come.
