Coaching Staff Set to Lead Canadian Teams Through a Busy Summer of International Championships

Canadian junior and senior athletes are preparing for an exciting slate of international competition across Pan America this summer. Supporting them every step of the way will be a seasoned group of coaches, bringing a wealth of international experience and high-performance expertise to each Canadian team.

The summer campaign begins at the Pan American Junior Championships in San Salvador, El Salvador, from June 28 to July 4. Leading the team is Giselle Delgado, a two-time Pan American Games bronze medallist, and Oliver Pett, a former PSA professional who reached a career-high of World No. 48.

“My journey through sport has shaped how I prepare, how I lead, and how I perform under pressure,” Giselle shares. “Now those lessons become tools I use to help our athletes compete with clarity, confidence and support.”

Next on the summer schedule, Canada will welcome the world to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, for the 2026 World Squash Junior Championships from July 20 to 31. Heading the Canadian coaching staff is Jonathan Hill, who is making his eleventh appearance at the World Junior Championships as a coach, alongside Marci Sier, a trained Mental Performance Consultant and extremely experienced high-performance coach.

“Competing at a World Championships for Canada is such a privilege and demonstrates the hard work these athletes have accomplished over their junior squash journey,” says Jonathan Hill. “Our role as coaches for Canada’s 8 players is to ensure their experience at the World’s is memorable from an on and off court perspective and they are in an environment where they can play their best squash.”

Summer events conclude with the Pan American Senior Championships in Asunción, Paraguay (August 15 – 22), a key milestone on the road to qualification for the LA 2028 Olympic Games. Leading Team Canada at the senior level are Victoria Lust, a former World No. 12 and five-time international coach for Canada, alongside Reiko Peter, former World No. 66 and Squash Canada’s recently appointed Athlete Development Director.

“I’m looking forward to my first Pan American Championships in my new role and the opportunity to work closely with this group of athletes,” Reiko shared. “This year’s Pan American Senior Championships are an important stepping stone in our progression toward LA 2028, and our focus will be on supporting athletes in executing their game plans on court while continuing to build consistency and confidence.”

Squash Canada extends its sincere appreciation to all coaches for their ongoing dedication to supporting Canadian athletes on the international stage. Further details regarding athlete team selection will be announced in advance of each event.
