Squash Canada Honours Those Who Make Canadian Squash Great

Each year, during Squash Canada’s (SC) Annual General Meeting weekend held in Ottawa, SC hosts the Squash Canada Awards Evening – a time used to celebrate the year that was and honour those who give so much to the sport.

This year, as our country celebrates a monumental milestone, the Squash Canada Awards Evening centered on the premise that, just like the world needs more Canada, Canada needs more squash.

In a room adorned in red and white, the air was filled with celebration as Squash Canada and representatives from across the country took time to celebrate those who make Canadian squash great. The Squash Canada Awards Evening is our time each year, to celebrate and honour some of the great achievements and incredible volunteers who give their time, effort and passion to developing and growing the game across the country.  From British Columbia to Newfoundland and everywhere in between, squash is driven by countless volunteers who Squash Canada and our provincial and territorial partners are honoured to recognize annually.

The 2017 Squash Canada Awards Evening featured 2 awards: the Certificate of Achievement and the Certificate of Appreciation.

Recipients on hand received their award presented by members of the SC Board of Directors, including Tournament Chair of the 2017 Canadian Men’s Team Championship, Ryan Morris and Elaine Glass, a long-time volunteer who has played an integral part to the growth of squash in Manitoba while she served as a Squash Manitoba board member, most recently as President of their board of directors.

Squash Canada would like to extend its sincere congratulations and appreciation to all the 2017 recipients. Thank you for all that you have done, all you continue to do and all you will do in the future – thank you for making Canadian squash great!
