It is with great sadness that Squash Canada confirms that Neil Desaulniers of Vancouver, BC, passed away on April 3rd, 2016. Former President of Squash Canada (formerly CSRA) from 1978-1980, Neil was an accomplished player winning many Canadian National squash titles in both hardball and softball singles and doubles between 1980-2009.
Neil, the father of the great Desaulniers squash dynasty (accomplished players Greg and Blake and former Canadian Men's Open singles & hardball champions Michael and Brad) and devoted husband of Bobbie, has left a lasting legacy on the Canadian squash community. A builder and a pillar of both B.C. and Canadian squash for so many years, the entire squash community will be forever grateful for all he did.
“On behalf of the board and staff of Squash Canada, we share our deepest condolences with the Desaulniers family. Neil will always be remembered as a Canadian squash icon, the loving father of an incredible squash dynasty and an esteemed past President of our association. He will be sorely missed for his friendship and for his contributions to the game by the entire squash community from coast to coast.” Lolly Gillen, Squash Canada President.
