Elite squash returns to Calgary, AB at the end of February in the form of the Airsprint Private Aviation Canadian Men’s Open 2025. From February 24-28, the Power Court will be erected in the heart of Calgary’s business district, Bow Valley Square, for the fourth consecutive year.
This PSA World Tour Bronze event has attracted five players ranked within the world’s Top 20, including the top seed, Mohamed Elshorbagy, a former world #1 who is currently ranked #9. Originally of Egypt and now representing England, Elshorbagy has been on the PSA tour since age 15, and with a career spanning nineteen years, has spent over a decade in the Top 10. With over 50 PSA titles under his belt, he is expected to meet the second seed, Youssef Soliman of Egypt in the finals, who returns to Calgary for the second year.
Standing in their way will be #3 seed and 2023 runner-up Victor Crouin of France, recent Cambridge Toronto Copper Champion Leonel Cárdenas of Mexico and England’s Nick Wall who hoisted the trophy in 2022.
Inciting domestic interest will be Canadian #1 David Baillargeon of Montreal, currently sitting at a world ranking of #59, as well as Liam Marrison of Toronto ranked at #147, and gathering the Calgary crowd will be Bow Valley Athletic Club Professional, Connor Turk, currently ranked #155.
