The 2025 Jesters Canadian University and College Championship, hosted by McGill University in Montreal, was held this past weekend (March 14 to 16) for the 2025 rendition of the tournament. With a record-breaking draw and an electric atmosphere, this year’s event set a new bar for university squash in Canada.

In the Men’s Open draw, Mohamed Kamal of McGill University battled hard through the tournament and beat Marat Sargsyan of Collège Bois de Boulogne in the finals to secure the victory. The Women’s Open title was won by Sarah Aki from McGill University who delivered a stellar performance to outlast Shirin Batra of University of Toronto. This year’s event made history as both the Men’s and Women’s Open champions came from the same institution—a testament to the rapid rise of McGill Squash. See below for the complete list of medalists.

“The 2025 Jesters University and College Squash Championships were a resounding success, showcasing the passion and talent of student-athletes from across Canada,” said Keith Flavell, Chairman of the Jesters Club of Canada. “Events like this highlight the vital role college and university squash plays in strengthening the sport’s future across the country. The Jesters Club has always been committed to fostering post-secondary squash, and we are proud to support initiatives that provide student-athletes with opportunities to develop. We look forward to seeing this championship continue to grow and thrive in the years to come.”

Squash Canada would like to acknowledge the support of the Jesters Club as title sponsor of the Canadian University and College Championship and presenting sponsor, the City of Montreal. Squash Canada would also like to recognize the contributions of Squash Quebec, Squash Experts, McGill University and Tournament Co-Chairs’ Mohamed Kamal and Yvon Provençal for hosting this top-tier event.
