The PSA World Tour arrives in Toronto this weekend with the 2026 Canadian Women’s Open and the SmartCentres Canada Cup each starting Sunday, October 25, and building all the way through to the Championship Matches on Friday, October 30.

Across the two events, Canada will be treated to the most exciting field of players yet, including four Top 10 players: Fayrouz Aboelkheir (EGY), Georgina Kennedy (ENG), and Tinne Gilis (BEL), who lead the women’s draw, along with Diego Elias (PER), who headlines the men’s.

Top seeds Aboelkheir (No. 1) and Kennedy (No. 2) both arrive in top form. Aboelkheir has already claimed a title this season, while Kennedy is coming off the best win of her career, a victory over then World No. 1 Hania El Hammamy. Also in the mix, 2024 Champion Tinne Gilis returns with unfinished business. Last year, she exited in the Round of 16 against Anahat Singh (IND), now the 2026 World Squash Junior Champion and this year’s No. 6 seed.

The Maple Leaf will be represented by Senior National Squad members Hollie Naughton (ON), Nicole Bunyan (BC), Niki Shemirani (ON), and Zeina Zein (ON), all hoping to make a deep run on home soil.

On the men’s side, World No. 3 Diego Elias is joined by two-time Toronto Athletic Club Open Champion Leonel Cardenas (MEX) and 52-time PSA title winner Mohamed ElShorbagy (ENG), with Senior Squad member Karim Michael (QC) and NextGen Squad member Youssef Taha (AB) representing Canada.

Squash Canada thanks Canadian Women’s Open Platinum Partners Altas Partners, BGRE, the Government of Canada, Oxford Properties, Scotiabank, and Slaight Music, along with our many gold, silver, and bronze partners and patrons, for their ongoing support of the sport. Squash Canada also extends its thanks to all SmartCentres Canada Cup partners, whose support helped bring this joint event to life.

Both events get underway at 12:00 PM EDT on Sunday, October 25.

All Canadian Women’s Open matches will be played on the Jonathon Power Court presented by Slaight Music and streamed live on CBC Sports, CBC Gem, and SQUASHTV, while the SmartCentres Canada Cup is available on SQUASHTV.
