For the fourth time in the event’s history, Canada hosts the Can-Am Cup at the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club. This weekend (November 6 – 8), sixty-eight players from across the country will take to the court in the open and age categories, all with one goal: to reclaim the title from the USA.
Known as the “Ryder Cup of Squash,” the biennial doubles event pits Canada against the United States, with the two countries taking turns as host.
The Can-Am Cup has long been a showcase of the fierce rivalry between the two nations, drawing the finest doubles squash talent on the continent. Canada has fallen short on the previous two occasions, but the home side arrives hungry. When the Cricket Club last hosted in 2018, Canada swept both the Men’s and Women’s titles.
Leading the charge are team captains Robin Clarke and Nikole Todd, two competitors who know how to bring home a trophy.
“As captain, I am excited to showcase the strength of Canadian Doubles Squash,” said Clarke.
“I feel like we’ve assembled the very best players in the country to reclaim the title from the USA that we’ve lost the previous two occasions. It’s going to be an incredible weekend of competitive squash, camaraderie, and high intensity. Really looking forward to hosting and showcasing the world class facilities the Cricket Club has to offer.”
Three prizes are up for grabs. The men will compete for the Bernheimer-Bell Trophy, the women for the Gillen-Pierce Trophy, and the country with the highest overall points total will take home the Can-Am Cup.
Teams will compete across a range of age groups, with the men’s categories running from Open through 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+, and 80+, and the women’s from Open through 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, and 65+.

Squash Canada wishes all athletes the best of luck this weekend and thanks the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club for hosting.
