The pinnacle of the AGM was the election of the three Vice Presidents. Hong Kong's Heather Deayton, retiring after fulfilling her maximum board term was recognized for her devotion and commitment by WSF President Ramachandran. Moments later Canada’s Linda MacPhail, Secretary General of the Pan-American Squash Federation and former Executive Director of Squash Canada was elected as for the vacated female director position while seasoned Incumbents Hugo Hannes (Belgium) and Mohamed El-Menshawy (Egypt) were re-elected for another two-year term.
“This is terrific news for our Pan American Federation but more importantly for Canada to once again have a seat on the board of the WSF” said Lolly Gillen, Squash Canada President. “Squash Canada is committed to promoting women in sport and women in leadership roles as part of our legacy in hosting the Women’s World Team Squash Championship this December. Having Linda MacPhail respected by squash federations from around the world exemplifies our vision and makes obtaining this goal a reality. The Board and staff of Squash Canada wish Linda the best of success in her prestigious role and to our continued working relationship with the WSF.”
