Canada’s countdown to the 2026 World Squash Junior Championships is underway, with Squash Canada and Niagara-on-the-Lake preparing to welcome squash’s best young talents from July 20 – 31, only a short four months from now. Hosted at the Mark Sachvie Squash Centre and the Jack Aylott Centre, at White Oaks Resort and Spa and Ridley College respectively, the tournament will host the world’s leading Under-19 athletes for nearly two weeks of competition.

This summer’s tournament will be the return of the World Squash Junior Championships to Canada for the first time since the early 1980s, when Ottawa hosted the inaugural junior women’s championships in 1981 and Calgary hosted the junior men in 1984. In the decades since, Canada has celebrated several landmark moments on the World Juniors stage, including a historic junior women’s team bronze in 2024—Hermione Cao (BC), Maria Min (BC), Ocean Ma (BC), and Spring Ma (BC)—as well as a junior men’s team bronze in 2010, earned by Nicholas Sachvie (ON), Andrew Schnell (AB), Tyler Osborne (ON), and Arjun Gupta (ON).

The 2026 World Squash Junior Championships will bring together a truly global field with delegations from all five continental federations expected to be in attendance. Historically, powerhouse nations such as Egypt, England, and Pakistan have excelled at this event, while rapidly developing programs across Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and the Americans have added greater depth.

Further details on team selections and spectator information will be shared in the coming months as preparations continue to build towards July.
