Squash Canada is excited to announce the eight talented young athletes chosen to represent Canada at the 2022 Pan American Junior Squash Championships to be held July 31 to August 5 in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
“The Pan-Am Juniors will be an exciting opportunity for these young aspiring players to experience playing for Canada in a South American country for the first time,” stated coach Richard Yendell. “This event will resemble a major games format with individual, doubles, and team competitions. Hopefully Pan Am Juniors will propel some of these young players on to the Senior Pan Am or Commonwealth Games in the future.”

“I’m so excited for this terrific opportunity to be a part of the Team Canada coach crew at the upcoming Pan American Junior Squash Championships alongside Richard Yendell,” says coach Giselle Delgado. “I’ve competed in Cochabamba, Bolivia, twice in the past representing Chile and these trips led to so much personal growth for me on and off the court. Being able to enjoy yourself playing squash in the face of adversity in an unfamiliar place takes practice, and this type of event provides a lot of it. I’m so happy to be there for this group of young Canadian athletes who will learn so much and want to wish them all the best in this experience! Go Canada Go!”
The Pan American Junior Championships are an important event on the squash calendar, and these athletes will gain valuable competition experience to be ready for future events representing Canada.
This will be the first Pan American Junior Squash Championships for all players on the team, and they will be keen to compete for their country. They will participate in singles, doubles, and a team event in Cochabamba.
Squash Canada looks forward to cheering on our talented juniors!
