World class squash will return to the iconic Brookfield Place in Toronto, October 27 – 31, 2024 with the Canadian Women’s Open headlining a celebration of our sport, including Squash Canada’s official Los Angeles 2028 Olympic launch

The Canadian Women’s Open, upgraded to a silver level for 2024, will see the largest purse in Canadian history at $75,000 (USD), attracting the top females in the world including World Ranked (WR) #20 and Commonwealth Games Silver Medalist Hollie Naughton of Mississauga, Ontario. In 2023, fans were treated to an exhilarating final between (WR) #6 and American #1 Amanda Sobhy and Egyptian star (WR) #12 Salma Hany in front of a capacity Brookfield Place crowd.

The 2024 version will see the addition of a Men’s Copper Championship ($25,000 USD), giving top Canadian males, including Canadian #1 and (WR) #40 David Baillargeon, another important opportunity to compete in a world-class environment on home soil. The Canadian Open will directly follow the US Open in Philadelphia, PA, ensuring the best possible field and completing a North American circuit.

The event will also mark Squash Canada’s official launch of our LA 2028 Olympic inclusion, where a roadmap will be unveiled for Canada’s return as a world leader in the sport. With the all-glass Power Court presented by Syra erected in the beautiful Allen Lambert Galleria for almost 2 weeks, thousands of Canadians will be exposed to one of the world’s healthiest, most diverse, and dynamic sports in this unique and captivating setting. Community partners Squash Ontario and Urban Squash Toronto will ensure the Power Court will be busy with exciting programming for all ages and abilities during its stay.

“The Canadian Women’s Open is a watershed event for the sport of squash in Canada and women’s professional and amateur sport,” exclaimed Stephanie Edmison, Tournament Co-Chair and Pan-Am Gold Medalist. “It will shine a light on the incredible athleticism and speed of squash, allowing public access in one of the world’s most unique and exhilarating venues, Brookfield Place.
