Victor-y for Crouin as He Lifts the 2026 AirSprint Private Aviation Canadian Men’s Squash Open Trophy

The AirSprint Private Aviation Canadian Men’s Squash Open 2026 wrapped up last week with a full‑circle moment for France’s Victor Crouin. A finalist in 2023 and a semi-finalist in 2025, Crouin finally completed his long pursuit of the title at Bow Valley Square by lifting the Canadian Men’s Open trophy on the brand new Knapp Family Court. Facing Egypt’s Yahya Elnawasany, the fairytale story of this year’s event, Crouin produced a commanding performance in the championship match as he stormed ahead, never looking back, and sealed the deal in 45 minutes (11 – 3, 11 – 6, 11 – 1).

Both finalists arrived in Calgary seeded and coming off the biggest wins of their careers, Crouin fresh off his 2026 Texas Open triumph in Houston, and Elnawasany riding high from his McMillan Goodfellow Classic 2026 victory in Toronto. Each carried a seven‑match winning streak into the final, setting the stage for a great showdown to cap the fifth iteration of the Canadian Men’s Open.

Highlights from the week included Elnawasany’s upset over top seed Marwan ElShorbagy in the quarterfinals, followed by a gritty semifinal win against 2025 finalist Leonel Cardenas. Fans were also treated to a high‑quality quarterfinal between Miguel Rodriguez and Crouin, and a strong showing from Canadian No. 1 David Baillargeon, who continues his steady ascent on the PSA Tour returning from injury.

Squash Canada extends its sincere thanks to title sponsor AirSprint Private Aviation, Gold, Silver, and Bronze partners, as well as patrons, volunteers, and the passionate Calgary squash community for their support in making this milestone edition a success.

The Knapp Family Court will remain in Western Canada, heading to Vancouver, BC for the 2026 Pollock Clinics Men’s Health Canadian Junior & Senior Championships Presented By Amica Senior Manor, taking place April 25 – 28 and April 29 – May 2.
