Hosts British Columbia had a very succesful Day 2 at the Northern Sport Centre, as the semi finals of the Men's and Women's Individual Draws were determined and Round Robin action began in the Team event.

All four seeds in the Women's Individuals are still in contention, as each of them were able to pull out wins in their quarterfinal matchups. The closest match came between BC's Michele Garceau and PEI's Quincy Beck, with 3/4 seed Garceau taking five games to move herself into the semis, scoring 11-3, 11-8, 6-11, 8-11, 11-5. She will face top seeded Sophie Mehta of Ontario tomorrow night. The other semi will feature second seed Chloe Chemtob from Quebec against the 3/4 Madlen O'Connor from Ontario.

The Men's quarterfinals featured two Quebec-Alberta matchups and two contests of Ontario versus British Columbia. Alberta and Quebec split their matches, with seeded players David Baillargeon (QC) and Michael Mehl (AB) advancing.

Hosts BC continued their winning ways of the day with two upsets over their seeded opponents. Gavin Maxwell bested 3/4 seed Alexi Gosset 3-0 (6, 9, 5) to earn his way into a semi final matchup against top seeded Baillargeon. Matthew Toth was again part of the match of the night, coming out victorious over second seed Carter Robitaille in another long 5-game match (4-11, 11-9, 11-4, 3-11, 11-2). Toth will play Mehl for a spot in Wednesday's Final.

Before all of this excitement, the courts were filled with a buzz of activity all day as the Team competition got underway. Each Province and Territory's teams were in action with some teams pulling double duty with matches in both the morning and afternoon sessions.

Manitoba and PEI drew large crowds today as both their Men's and Women's teams faced off on our show courts. Both draws saw Team Toba holding the slightly higher seed, being 4th in the Women's and 6th in the Men's to PEI's 5th and 7th respectively. The close seeds proved true as close matches resulted. PEI battled from behind to win the each of the last matches and force a draw in both events.

Day 3 will be another great day of squash at the Northern Sport Centre, as we continue with Women's Round Robin action at 9am. We'll have four sessions of team play tomorrow followed by the Individual Semi Finals, which are sure to have some more exciting squash to close out the day.
