Squash Canada (SC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Britany Gordon as Programs Manager for SC. Britany will join SC Executive Director, Dan Wolfenden, in Ottawa at the SC national office and SC Performance Director, Jamie Hickox.
Squash Canada (SC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Britany Gordon as Programs Manager for SC. Britany will join SC Executive Director, Dan Wolfenden, in Ottawa at the SC national office and SC Performance Director, Jamie Hickox.
Britany comes to SC from the Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) where she has been the Events and Communications Coordinator since 2012. During her tenure with the CLA, Britany oversaw the coordination of thirteen national championships, lead the redesign of their website managing web content and information and worked as the public relations and communications coordinator for Team Canada and the organization as a whole. Prior to her time at the CLA, Britany served as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator with the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) for seven years. During her time with the CAC, Britany was responsible for website and social media development, and communication pieces including e-newsletters with a readership of more than 200,000 people.
She has experience in media monitoring and creating and maintaining database information as she led the CLA to an increase in social media presence and expanded their reach throughout Canada and the world.
Britany also has extensive experience in event management; in addition to annually coordinating thirteen national championships, she has executed the communication plan for the Petro-Canada Sport Leadership Conference and on-site logistics for the event. Britany has also managed and executed all logistics for the Women in Coaching National Coach Workshop Conference and volunteered as Director of Volunteers at the 2008 Ontario Summer Games and as Assistant Manager of Venue Operations at the 2006 Ontario Summer Games.
Britany has a Bachelor in Kinesiology from Acadia University and a graduate diploma in Sport Business Management from Algonquin College.
As Programs Manager, Britany will be responsible for website and social media management for SC and will create the internal and external communication plans for the SC and in press release and media management. She will also manage certain SC programs such as the National Coaching Certification Program and the national officiating program working closely with the national committees that oversee the direction of each program. On the event side, Britany will manage and further develop national championship events and will be the primary resource for national championship host organizers.
