Toronto (ON) – After the NSA Open, the National Squash Academy is now hosting the pre-qualifying tournament for the team that will represent Canada in the WSF Men’s World Team Championship. Running from August 16-21, the pre-qualifying tournament will give eight individuals a chance to clinch two spots in the secondary trials.
Toronto (ON) – After the NSA Open, the National Squash Academy is now hosting the pre-qualifying tournament for the team that will represent Canada in the WSF Men’s World Team Championship. Running from August 16-21, the pre-qualifying tournament will give eight individuals a chance to clinch two spots in the secondary trials.
The tournament began yesterday, in a two pool, round robin format. Each pool contains four competitors, with each player given a guaranteed three matches against their pool opponents, with the top two men from each pool advancing.

In last night’s action, Matt Serediak defeated Cameron Seth 3-1, while Albert Shoihet won 3-0 against Fred Reid.
Upon completion of the round robin, a crossover will commence, with the top seed from Box A matching up against the second seed from Box B and the top seed from Box B versus the second seed from Box A. The winners of each match will advance to the secondary trials.
The results of the secondary trial, to be held this fall, will determine the players Canada will send to the 2015 WSF Men’s World Team Championship in Kuwait. The Men’s World Team Championship will take place at the Late Sheikh / Salem Al-Sabah International Squash Complex from December 12-18, 2015.
