OTTAWA, ON (July 19, 2019) — The 2019 World Junior Squash Championships are now less than two weeks away. Our Canadian athletes will face opponents from every corner of the globe at the National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from July 30th to August 9th.  The event will consist of junior men’s and junior women’s individuals, followed by a team competition that rotates gender annually.

Canadian stars Charlotte Orcutt, Brianna Jefferson, Erica McGillicuddy and Molly Chadwick will band together to fight for a spot on the podium both in the Women’s Team Event and as participants in the Women’s Individual competition.  The four girls are looking to build on their recent success at the 2019 Pan American Junior Squash Championships where they captured Gold in the Women’s Team event.  For Orcutt this will be her second World Juniors while the remainder of the team will look to make headlines in their first opportunity.

In addition, Canada is sending eight additional athletes to compete in the Individual competition led by reigning Canadian Boys U19 Champion James Flynn and Lucia Bicknell who captured Gold at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in the Girls Singles.  The rest of the team includes Sarah Cao, Darosham Khan, Emilio Carrillo, Matt Bicknell, Maaz Mufti and Sayeed Mavani.

Listed below are the twelve junior squash players, and two coaches, who will be representing Canada.

Squash Canada will be posting daily updates of Lima 2019 as received on this page.
