The Stage is Set for the 2025 Canadian Women’s Open – Orfi, Gilis, Sobhy & Naughton to Headline Oct 25 – 30 in Toronto

The 2025 Canadian Women’s Open gets underway tomorrow in Toronto, Ontario at Brookfield Place, on the Jonathon Power Court. Topping previous years, the combined event of the Canadian Women’s Open (PSA Silver, 96K USD) and the Toronto Athletic Club Open (PSA Copper, 41K USD) is the largest professional squash tournament in Canadian history.

The Women’s Draw boasts one of the strongest lineups in tournament history, with four players in the world’s Top 10. Headlining is World No. 3 and 4-Time World Junior Champion, Amina Orfi (EGY), making her Canadian debut. Orfi will be looking to make this a memorable trip by capturing her first Canadian title. Defending champion, Tinne Gilis (BEL), and 2023 champion, Amanda Sobhy (USA), return as the second and third seeds after facing off in last year’s thrilling final.

The Toronto Athletic Club Open brings together a wide range of international talent led by top seed and defending champion, Leonel Cardenas (MEX), with Yahya Elnawasany (EGY) and Adrian Waller (ENG) as second and third seeds. Rising stars to watch include 2025 NASH Cup Champion, Noor Zaman (PAK), and Vancouver’s Richardson Wealth Men’s Open Champion, Muhammad Ashab Irfan (PAK), and finalist, Sam Todd (ENG). Early rounds (Oct. 25–26) will be hosted at the Toronto Athletic Club before action shifts to the Jonathon Power Court for the quarter-finals onward.

The Maple Leaf will be represented in both draws, with Senior National Squad members Hollie Naughton (ON), Nicole Bunyan (BC), and Danielle Ray (AB) joining the field, alongside NextGen athletes Niki Shemirani (ON), Maximilien Godbout (QC), and Wasey Maqsood (ON).
