In the new year, two national championships will unfold across Montreal, QC from January 23 – 25. Post-secondary athletes will take over McGill University for the 2026 Jesters Canadian University and College Championships while Masters competitors will fill the courts at Club Sportif CDL for the 2026 Canadian Masters Team Championship.
The 2025 Jesters Canadian University and College Championships was a turning point for post-secondary squash after being the most well-attended edition in more than a decade and a clear sign of the squash’s popularity on campuses across the country. “We are incredibly excited to be hosting the University Nationals again. Last year’s success showed the energy radiating throughout the university squash community. This year we’re determined to build on that momentum and keep fuelling the fire that’s driving the sport’s growth across campuses in Canada,” says Mohamed Kamal, Tournament Director and 2025 Men’s Open Champion.
Furthermore, the Canadian Masters Team Championship returns to Quebec for the first time since 2019, and it’s being brought to life by Tournament Director and Squash Quebec President, Stephane Lussier, with assistance from National Referee, Viano Oghenekevwe and former Squash Canada President, Steve Wren. “This event has always carried a special spirit, competitiveness mixed with longtime camaraderie. We’re thrilled to welcome teams from across the country and to showcase the passion that defines Masters squash,” said Stephane Lussier.
