International summer events continue with the 2026 Pan American Senior Championships. With more than twenty competing nations, including Canada, there are Individual, Team, and Doubles titles up for grabs.
Ahead of the tournament, Team Canada will travel to Asunción, Paraguay, and compete from August 15 to 22. The 2026 Pan American Championships are the last of an important cycle, with the following summer hosting the 2027 Pan American Games (July 23 – August 8 in Lima, Peru), the first qualification event for Pan American athletes for the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
Representing Canada will be returning competitors Hollie Naughton (ON), Nicole Bunyan (BC), Nikole Todd (ON), David Baillargeon (QC), and Connor Turk (AB), joined by Zeina Zein (ON), George Crowne (ON), and Wasey Maqsood (ON).
The team will be guided by Oliver Pett, a former PSA professional who reached a career-high of World No. 48, and Reiko Peter, a former World No. 66 who recently stepped into the role of Squash Canada’s Athlete Development Director.
“I’m looking forward to my first Pan American Championships in my new role and the opportunity to work closely with this great group of athletes,” said Reiko Peter. “This year’s Pan American Championships are an important stepping stone in our progression toward LA 2028, and our focus will be on supporting these athletes execute their game plans on court while continuing to build towards consistency.”
The Pan American Senior Championships closes out a busy summer of international competition for Squash Canada, following the Pan American Junior Championships in San Salvador and the 2026 World Squash Junior Championships hosted on home soil in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
