Hosting for over ten years in a row, The Club at White Oaks is one of the premier facilities for hosting squash events in the world.  The 2015 event featured 292 top players, 90 international players representing 18 different countries from five continents. The event timing precedes the US Junior Open (Dec.17-20), enabling overseas players to benefit from two major junior events in one trip.

The CJO is a WSF World Junior Circuit event enabling U19 players to accumulate ranking points. As a WJC event all participants are required to have a WSF SPIN number regardless of age category.  SPIN numbers are to be purchased directly from the WSF before CJO registration. The CJO is also a registered junior event with the PSA, enabling U19 players who are PSA members to accumulate PSA ranking points.

Draws of 32 or less:
  • Full feed-in
    • Main draw, Consolation, Bronze
    • Main draw winner is 1st, loser 2nd
    • Main draw has 3rd-4th match
    • Consolation winner is 5th place, loser 6th
    • Add in Consolation semi-final losers match to give 7th & 8th position
 
Draws of 64 or more:
  • Full feed-in with Classic Plate
    • Main Draw, Classic Plate, Consolation, Bronze
    • Consolation feed-in ends at Rd. of 16
    • Main Draw quarter-final losers go to the Classic Plate and play out positions 5-8
    • Consolation winner is 9th place, loser 10th

  2. Higher ranked players;

Entry Fee: This year we are pleased to offer two entry fee options

Entry Fee Option 1: $85 + $11.05 HST, Total: $96.05 CAD (Option 1 includes: entry fee only) 

Entry Fee Option 2: $140 + $18.20 HST, Total: $158.20 CAD (Option 2 includes: entry fee cost PLUS official tournament souvenir, three (3) superb buffet meal tickets, and pizza party on Saturday evening)

Late Entries: Late entries will be accepted where space is available, after the entry deadline date and before the first meeting of the seeding committee and upon payment of the $25 late entry fee, plus $3.25 HST, total $28.25 CAD.

REGULATIONS

World Squash Federation Squash Personal Identification Number  (SPIN#) Requirement 

A WSF SPIN# is required for ALL participants of the 2016 Canadian Junior Open!

The 2016 Canadian Junior Open is recognized as a World Squash Federation World Junior Circuit Event. In addition to being part of this exclusive Circuit, the results from Under-19 events at the Canadian Junior Open will be used for WSF World Junior Circuit ranking points. ALL participants are required to obtain a Squash Personal Identification Number (SPIN#) prior to entering the Canadian Junior Open. All participants are encouraged to obtain their SPIN# today.

The Registration is a once in a lifetime fee and currently only GBP10.00 (approx. $20 CDN). Obtain your SPIN online at www.worldsquash.org/spin.


POLICIES

REFUND POLICY
 
Requests for refunds of entry fees will be handled by Squash Canada, upon receipt of written notice. 
 
Withdrawals prior and up to the entry deadline date will receive a full refund less a $5 processing fee.
Withdrawals after the entry deadline date until preliminary seedings are published will receive a 50% refund.
 
No refund will be given after the preliminary seedings are posted, except for medical reasons or bereavement. In these cases, medical notes or other documentation (e.g. doctor’s note, death notice, etc.) must be provided within 24 hours of the withdrawal for a refund to be considered. In these cases, when approved, a full refund less a $20 processing fee, will be issued.

Eyeguard Policy

Eyeguards are mandatory for all participants. Please consult Squash Canada's Eyeguard Policy for the list of approved models.

Dress Code

Participants are required to have identification of country representation on all game wear clothing. 

Athlete Eligibility Policy

All Competitors must be under 19, 17, 15, or 13 years of age as of the final day of the Canadian Junior Open, as appopriate for the category they have entered.

All competitors in the Canadian Junior Open must be members in good standing of their respective Provincial/Territorial Squash Association and Squash Canada, or the National Association of their residence. 

Notwithstanding a competitor may be a member in good standing with their respective Provincial/Territorial Squash Association and Squash Canada, or the National Association of their residence, where a competitor is subject to a sanction imposed by the Host Club, Squash Canada shall respect that sanction, including any sanction which may preclude the person from entering the premises and thus participating in the Championships provided the sanction was imposed using fair procedures. Specifically, the sanctioned person must have been informed by the Host Club of the nature of the infraction and have been given the opportunity to provide information concerning the incident prior to the sanction being imposed.  

 

Canadian Rankings Policy regarding Withdrawals and Defaults

DEFAULTS:   
Any player who defaults from a match or fails to show up for a match once tournament play has begun, will lose points to their opponent.  The player who defaults from a match or fails to show for a match will automatically lose 12 points in the rankings.  Their opponent will gain 12 points for the default or no show.  A player who defaults multiple times in the same event will receive 12-point deduction for every match defaulted in the event. 
 
NOTE: A player may appeal their default by submitting a doctor’s note to Squash Canada (by either Fax or via scanned email) by no later than 7 days after the conclusion of the event. Only at the discretion of Squash Canada can a defaulted player have their 12 points reinstated.
 
 
WITHDRAWALS:
Any player who must withdraw from a tournament (with a legitimate reason) after the draw has been made will not lose points in the ranking system or will have points credited back provided he/she provides proper documentation to Squash Canada.  If a player withdraws due to injury he/she must provide a doctor’s note to Squash Canada (see above). 
 
Squash Canada considers a legitimate reason for withdrawing from a match/ event to be one of the following only:  family emergency, illness, injury or accident.  Squash Canada will not credit a players lost points for any other reason.  It is the player’s responsibility to inform Squash Canada as to the reason why they are requesting a credit for any points lost.  It will be Squash Canada’s decision to credit points back to the player or not.  A player must notify Squash Canada in writing within 7 days after the conclusion of the event. 
 
For the Canadian Junior Open, Squash Canada reserves the right to refuse future entries in cases where a pattern of defaults and/or withdrawals are evidenced.

Ground Transportation

From Airport:
The closest Canadian International airport is Toronto Pearson International (YYZ) which is approximately 112km from the White Oaks Resort.  The host are not responsible for making ground transportation arrangements.  Ground transportation can be arranged by an airport shuttle service at www.niagaraairbus.ca 

The Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) in the USA is 60 km from The Club at White Oaks.  For international participants, take note that there is a border crossing from USA to Canada and that landing in the United States may require a USA Visa for citizens of certain nations.
