Squash Canada is saddened to learn that we have lost Ron Hughes, a great builder in the squash community. Ron was an enthusiastic builder both locally and in the varied expatriate postings he and his family enjoyed.
Ron was a devoted grassroots developer. He initiated programs wherever he was to create the foundation for squash in developing communities that still enjoy the benefit of his passion and devotion to the game. Under Ron’s direction, Guyana produced junior squash players who went on to US varsity, as well as developed talent that went onto the PSA. And, of course, the Ottawa junior squash program benefited immensely from Ron’s leadership.
