Excitement Builds for 2021 Canadian Junior Open presented by Forthlane Partners

From December 11-14, 2021, the Canadian Junior Open presented by Forthlane Partners, the most prestigious junior squash tournament held in Canada, returns after a year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Club at White Oaks in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario will host over 200 junior squash players, along with their families and coaches, from across Canada and around the World.

The 2021 Canadian Junior Open will showcase many of the world’s top young squash players, many of whom are National Champions in their home country.  The event has become a staple in the calendar for players, coaches, and parents because of its unique “all in one” atmosphere, with the hotel, squash courts, dining, and more all located within The White Oaks Resort and Spa.

Matches for the Boy’s and Girls U13/U15/U17/U19 are set to begin on Saturday December 11th at 8:30am and will conclude on Tuesday December 14th with all Championship Finals.

Squash Canada welcomes Forthlane Partners as presenting sponsor of the Canadian Junior Open and sincerely thanks the Government of Ontario, through the Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries for their invaluable support towards the return of the event. In addition, Squash Canada would like to thank all of our corporate partners including platinum sponsors.

In addition, Squash Canada will host an inaugural U23 PSA Satellite event, sponsored by Rouge River Brewing that will take place on the new Squash Canada Glass Show Court.  This event is designed to support our new NextGen Program athletes by providing them high performance competition and an opportunity to gain valuable points towards their PSA ranking. Matches will begin Saturday December 11th at 10:00am and will conclude on Monday December 13th with the Championship Finals.

Squash Canada would also like to recognize our platinum and gold corporate partners Airsprint Private Aviation, AMJ Campbell, Slaight Music, Oxford Properties, Syra Holdings, Altas Partners, Bank of Montreal, Dunlop, Geotab, Mortgage Company of Canada, and YDC Pro for their part in inspiring our junior athletes through the glass court program to achieve international success.

“We are very pleased to bring the Canadian junior community together with our international guests”, said Dan Wolfenden, Squash Canada Executive Director. “Squash Canada and The Club at White Oaks have had to take a lot of extraordinary steps and safety measures to provide this competitive opportunity.  We look forward to some great squash and rekindling of old and new friendships, and the excitement generated by use of a marquee, all-glass show court to best display the speed of the game and the athleticism of these young athletes.”

“White Oaks is very excited to be back in action this year with the hosting of the 2021 Canadian Junior Open. I would like to thank Squash Canada for their determined efforts to make this event happen. Please be aware of our COVID-19 rules as stated in the tournament guidelines.  Things will be a bit different this year and we should all be grateful of the fact that we are back at our beautiful Four Diamond Resort to participate in this prestigious event. — Matt Easingwood, Head Squash Pro at The Club at White Oaks.
