Strong Field of Contenders for Upcoming Canadian University & College Championships

The 2022 Canadian University and College Squash Championships begin this Friday with over 30 top student athletes from across the nation competing for a chance at the title. The event takes place from March 25th to 27th, hosted exclusively by Glendon Athletic Club, Proctor Field House in Toronto.

The categories will include a Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Men’s A and Women’s B.

The Women’s draw is highlighted by Sam Cornett, a Canadian icon in Women’s squash and a four-time national champion. She has represented the nation at many team events over the years, including multiple Pan Am Games and World Team Championships.

“I’m looking forward to competing in this year’s Canadian University & College Championships. After such a long time away from this event. I look forward to seeing fellow students enjoying the game together,” said Sam Cornett.

The Men’s draw features Mike McCue, who is currently 128 in the PSA World Rankings. “I’m very excited to compete in the University and College Championships for the first time. The recent OUA Team Championships was my first University squash event, and the spirit of competition and camaraderie made for a great experience. I’m sure the national individual championship will bring more of the same. The initiative to keep players engaged in competitive squash after juniors is instrumental in the sustained growth of our sport,” said Mike McCue.

We look forward to welcoming Canada’s best student squash players to Toronto.
