Created in 2012, Giving Tuesday started as an idea, and has since caught on and grown around the world, inspiring hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. This year, Squash Canada is calling out to the greater squash community to join the Giving Tuesday movement and donate to Squash Canada’s Road to Podium fund as we build towards Olympic inclusion in 2028.
The Road to Podium fund is being re-energized with a focus on LA28, allowing our national team athletes to sustain and accelerate their development and performance on the highest international stage. The required funding does not currently exist within many players’ means/support structure, presenting a gap that requires corporate and individual donor support. Donating to Squash Canada’s Road to Podium fund will help lay the foundation for a revamped athlete development program that will include centralized regional Junior, Next Gen and Senior team training, individualized athlete enhancement and an integrated playground to podium pathway.
“Squash in Canada has never had more opportunity as our community is about to embark on the Olympic dream. Planning starts now for LA28 and beyond, and our athletes need your support to achieve their dreams,” shared Squash Canada Chief Executive Officer, Jamie Nicholls. “I believe so strongly in the people and programs that we have in place to make Squash Canada a world-leading nation in our sport, and it’s important to lead by example – that’s why I personally donate annually to the Road to Podium fund, and why we are reaching out to the greater squash community to donate as well.”
Squash Canada is a not-for-profit national sports association that relies on the generosity of funding partners, friends, and fans to help foster its programs and national teams. With your support, Squash Canada can help increase participation, build awareness for the sport, provide programming to enrich player experiences, and support our athletes’ quests to reach their peak leading into the LA28 Olympic Games.
As a registered Canadian Amateur Athletic Association recognized by Canada Revenue Agency, donations of $25.00 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt.
