Glencoe Club in Calgary to host 2024 Canadian Junior and Senior Squash Championships presented by Airsprint Private Aviation

One of Canada’s most historic squash clubs will play host to the 2024 Canadian Junior and Senior Squash Championships April 27 through May 5, 2024. The Glencoe Club in Calgary, Alberta will run the Canadian Junior and Senior Championships consecutively in what promises to be a celebration of squash and the culmination of the 2023-24 season. The All-Glass Power Court presented by the Syra Group will be erected in the Glencoe Club badminton hall, combining with their 7-court facility, to create a unique playing and spectating experience as Canada’s best Junior and Senior athletes are showcased. The event will follow the success of the 2023 iteration at Club Atwater and Le Forum de Montreal which combined the two marquee Squash Canada championships for the first time in history.

With thanks to presenting partner Airspint Private Aviation and the Alberta and Calgary communities, the Glencoe Club is preparing for the world-class event-hosting they are known for. “The Glencoe Club is always ready to put their hand up to support squash in Canada and are excited to host the combined junior and senior nationals under the same roof in 2024. We look forward to welcoming athletes, coaches, officials and spectators to Calgary in late April and early May for excellent competition on the courts and even better camaraderie off it,” exclaimed David Duncalf, Head Squash Professional at the Glencoe Club.

A total of 42 titles will be up for grabs during the combined event.  The Canadian Junior Championships will run Saturday, April 27 to Tuesday, April 30, before the Open (May 1) and Masters (May 2) athletes take to the courts for the Canadian Squash Championships, culminating on Sunday May 5. After restricted fields coming out of the pandemic, the junior categories will once again be open to all participants; the Senior Championships will feature $15,000 prize money for Canada’s top professionals and a Saturday evening banquet for all competitors.

“The 2024 Canadian Squash Championships is set to be a wonderful celebration of our community; having the juniors and seniors compete together at a world class venue like the Glencoe Club on the All-Glass Power Court presented by the Syra Group is inspiring,” remarked Jamie Nicholls, Squash Canada Chief Executive Officer. “Squash Canada would like to thank Airsprint Private Aviation for their historic contributions to the game, the City of Calgary, Squash Alberta, David Duncalf and the Glencoe team for extending their hospitality in what is sure to be a memorable event.”

Registration is now open for both junior and senior events, including limited hotel blocks with preferential rates.
