Squash Canada is thrilled to welcome back Samantha Cornett, one of Canada’s most accomplished squash figures, as she re-joins the organization in a new capacity. After departing in 2024 from her role as Manager of Athlete Development, Samantha is set to bring her unparalleled passion, leadership, and expertise back to Squash Canada as Interim Director of Athlete Development.

Samantha has left an indelible mark on the sport, both on and off the court. As an athlete, she amassed an impressive career with 9 national titles, 8 Pan American medals—including a Team Gold in 2011—13 Professional Squash Association titles, and a career-high world ranking of #23. Her transition to an administrative role in 2021 allowed her to shape the future of Canadian squash, leading critical initiatives which have set a strong foundation for Canada’s squash future.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Samantha back to the Squash Canada team,” said Jamie Nicholls, Chief Executive Officer of Squash Canada. “Her impact on our sport is undeniable, and having her return will only strengthen our efforts as we continue to grow and develop Canadian squash talent. Sam embodies everything we stand for—excellence, integrity, and an unwavering love for the game.”

Reflecting on her return, Samantha shared her enthusiasm: “Squash Canada has always been home to me, and I’m beyond excited to step back in and contribute once again. The progress we’ve made over the past few years is inspiring, and I can’t wait to help push our athletes and programs to new heights.”

With Samantha’s return, Squash Canada looks forward to building on its strong momentum, fostering the next generation of players, and continuing to elevate the sport nationwide as we all look towards LA2028.
