OTTAWA (ON) – Team Canada won the Consolation draw and finished in 13th place at the World Junior Team Championships in Windhoek, Namibia. Canada reached the 13th place playoff after beating Sweden yesterday 3-0. Today's matchup saw Canada defeat Argentina 2-0 as part of the final day of competition at the Championships.

Canada reached the 13th place playoff after beating Sweden yesterday 3-0. Today's matchup saw Canada defeat Argentina 2-0 as part of the final day of competition at the Championships.
David Baillargeon and Carter Robitaille grabbed the wins for Canada, deciding the match before Jarryd Osborne was called to play in the third position match up. Baillargeon faced Argentina's top player Federico Cioffi in a 70 minute match that went the full five games. Baillargeon battled back, being down two games to one to take the match 3-2 (3-11, 11-5, 8-11, 11-9, 11-6). Robitaille took on Franco Andres Romiglio in the second seed match, and won in straight games 11-5, 11-3, 11-2.
Egypt beat Pakistan in the gold medal match to retain their World Junior Team Championships title.
