The individual event was the first discipline to be played, with all four athletes participants in action. Hinchey and Henderson faced off in the round of 32, with Henderson moving on to fast the top seed, Andres Felipe Herrera of Colombia. Herrera took the match to knock out the Canadian, and later battled back from two games down in the semi-final against Canadian teammate Baillargeon, winning the match 3-2 on his way to the finals.

In the doubles event Matthew Henderson and Devin Hinchey captured a bronze medal, beating second seeded Brazil in the first round. The pair lost in the semi-finals to the home team, El Salvador.
