OTTAWA, ON (August 28, 2019) — Squash Canada is proud to announce that Bruce Marrison will be joining our Board of Directors, after being formally elected to the position of Director at Large on August 7th, 2019.
Successful businessman, talented squash player, and proud father to four children, Bruce has accomplished a great deal in both his personal and professional life. His extensive background in commerce and the sport of squash make him a skilled and welcome addition to the current team of Board members.
In his professional career, Bruce is the CEO and owner of Performance Finishing Solutions, a company that has seen a 10% growth in revenue annually since acquisition. Prior to this, Bruce led The Orthotic Group team from a ‘mom and pop shop’ to North America’s largest custom orthotic laboratory, manufacturing and selling custom orthotics to health care professionals around the globe.
Bruce has contributed significantly to the squash community for many years, both as a player and volunteer. As a Board member and current President of Squash Ontario, Bruce has been instrumental in expanding the membership and revenue of the provincial association since 2014.
When it comes to on-court action, Bruce is an avid competitor, having won a national title in the men’s over 40 category, a doubles provincial title, and multiple masters titles (over 30, 40, and 45). He also supports his three sons in their junior squash aspirations, with the eldest currently holding a #1 ranking in Canada, and the two younger brothers nearing that position in their respective age groups.
“It gives me great pleasure in welcoming Bruce into the Squash Canada administrative arm as the Board of Director’s 8th member. Bruce’s affable and good-humoured nature layers with his determination to make progress and get things done. Having known Bruce since the mid-80’s, he has shown decades of involvement with the sport and is now able and willing to meet the call. On behalf of the current Board of Directors, thank you for joining, Bruce”, states Steve Wren, President, Squash Canada.
Please join us in welcoming Bruce to the Squash Canada family.
