Club Locker announces subscription model for Canadian Squash Community

To the Canadian squash community: 

We trust you are having a fantastic start to the 2024-2025 squash season, our first full campaign as an Olympic sport and hopefully our most exciting yet.  

In 2018, Squash Canada and it’s Provincial/Territorial squash associations began the transition to a unified sport management platform in conjunction with US Squash called Club Locker. Despite some typical growing pains with a project of this scale, Club Locker has served the Canadian squash community well. Features we have become accustomed to include: a Universal rating ideal for recreational player interaction, integrated tournament features including live scoring and most recently a junior high performance rankings program. More importantly, over 130,000 North American squash players are united on the same platform; a very powerful tool both now and in the future.   

Since 2018, Club Locker has kept its fee structure static at 2.5% of tournament/program fees. This model has proved insufficient for developing and maintaining the growing platform. 

In January 2024, Club Locker made the decision to move to a hybrid subscription model whereby features were segmented into tiers. An elevated level of access from the free tier is included with your association membership, but enhanced features are available by subscription only.  

Squash Canada and its Provincial/Territorial squash associations will be moving to this new hybrid model as of December 1, 2024. Registered members will continue to enjoy basic Club Locker features including personal ratings and match entry, while enhanced features such as viewing other profiles and advanced analytics will be available at a fee. Administrators, including tournament and league organisers, will be granted elevated access to match history to ensure they can continue to effectively run their programs, which will be automatically added before December 1, 2024.

• Players can subscribe for as low as $6.67 USD per month, a 40% savings when billed annually or the fee is $11.99 USD per month. This subscription grants access to the full wealth of match, tournament, league, and player data.

• Head-to-Head: Get detailed summaries and statistics on all your prior matchups, offering a new dimension to understanding your game and your opponents. 

• Match Media: See attached videos and images alongside your match history 

• New Live scores: Mobile optimised and enhanced live score pages with multiple views 

Continued Benefits for Squash Canada Members: 

• Benefits provided by Squash Canada will remain unchanged, including participation in accredited leagues and tournaments, official ratings and rankings, and access to programmes and events. 

• All Club Locker match results will continue to integrate seamlessly into ratings ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience, worldwide.
