A contingent of over forty Canadian juniors made the journey to Birmingham, England as a united front to compete in the prestigious 2025 British Junior Open (BJO), held from January 2nd to the 6th. Led by a dedicated team of coaches including Victoria Lust, Marci Sier, Chris Truswell, Jonathan Hill, Graeme Williams and mentor Hollie Naughton, Team Canada set out to face the best juniors from around the world.
Throughout the event, our junior athletes rose to the occasion and displayed their grit and passion in every match. Much like the USJO, the results from the BJO reflect the steady progress of athletic development across the nation, with 10 finishes in the Top 25. A notable performance came from the Boys Under-13 division where Obie Ryding (ON) showed the future was bright with a 9th place finish.
Squash Canada extends a heartfelt thank you to the Arjun Gupta Foundation (AGF) for contributing to the 2025 BJO they’re through international excellence bursary programme for athletes requiring funding support to attend.
Congratulations to all the athletes who competed and represented Canada!
