Squash Canada is excited to share the delegation of talented junior athletes that will compete in the 19th annual Battle of the Border at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from August 7th to 10th.
Since its creation, the Battle of the Border has created amazing opportunities for Canadian and American Junior players to compete internationally and gain experience in representing their country. The Battle consists of groups of eight athletes, four boys and four girls, in each of the U17, U15 and U13 categories.
“Battle of the Border is an extremely important athlete development opportunity for Canadian juniors athletes. It is a great training and competition environment and is the epitome of the sport, where we compete and then come together to enjoy the camaraderie of squash,” says Samantha Cornett, Squash Canada’s Director of Athlete Development. “It is my personal favourite event, from when I was a player and now on the leadership side!”
This year, our Canadian team will face tough competition against Team USA, looking to recapture the Battle of the Border title for the first time since 2016. Join us in cheering on our junior athletes!
