In the new year, 50 Canadian junior athletes will travel overseas to one of the most historic junior squash events, the 2026 British Junior Open, running January 2 – 6, 2026 in Birmingham, England.
This year, the British Junior Open celebrates its 100th anniversary, making it one of the most prestigious and historic junior squash tournaments in the world. For Canadian athletes, competing in this event is about testing themselves against the globe’s best, learning from every rally and being part of a century-long tradition.
Canadian juniors will be led by an experienced coaching team including Jonathan Hill, Samantha Cornett Singh (ON), Nick Sachvie (ON), William Kuhn (ON), Jennifer Pelletier (ON), and Oliver Pett (AB). “The British Junior Open is the ultimate test for our athletes,” says Jonathan Hill, Squash Canada’s Junior National Team Coach. “It’s where we see how they respond to top competition, handle pressure and grow on court.”
