Elite Squash Takes Over Montreal as RK4 Canadian Master’s Teams Championship Gets Underway on Friday

Montreal will come alive this weekend (23 – 25 January) with championship energy as almost 200 athletes descend on the city for a landmark display of squash. Two national championships will run concurrently, with Master’s athletes competing at Club CDL and postsecondary athletes battling at McGill University.

At Club Sportif Côte de Liesse CDL, the 2026 RK4 Canadian Master’s Teams Championship will bring together 70 Masters athletes representing 10 teams from across the country. As host province, Quebec will field two teams (Quebec A and Quebec B), highlighting the depth of the provinces’ Masters squash community. Teams from British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia round out one of the most nationally diverse Masters Teams Championships to date.

“It’s incredibly exciting to see Montreal host such a vibrant national squash weekend,” said Squash Quebec President and Tournament Chair, Stephane Lussier. “Quebec has always had such a strong and passionate squash community, and welcoming Masters teams from across the country speaks to the energy and unity of our sport. We’re proud to open our doors and our courts to athletes from coast to coast for a great weekend.”

Defending champions Team Ontario arrive with momentum, chasing a fourth consecutive title and a tenth overall. Challenging them is a deep, competitive field including a stacked Team Alberta lineup featuring several former Team Canada athletes, a seasoned Team British Columbia squad with championship ambitions, and Quebec’s two home teams.

With ten teams, the championship promises a full weekend of meaningful competition, strategy, and shared moments on and off the court. Squash Canada acknowledges the support of RK4 Sports as title sponsor. Squash Canada also extends sincere thanks to Squash Québec, the Government of Québec, Club Sportif Côte de Liesse (CDL), Domino’s Pizza, and Tournament Co-Chairs Stephane Lussier and Viano Oghenekevwe for an outstanding championship weekend.
