OTTAWA (ON) – Coming off of two losses in the team competition at the World Junior Team Championships in Windhoek, Namibia, Canada bounced back and defeated South Africa in the 13 through 20 bracket. David Baillargeon defeated Laurence Kuhn in three straight games, 11- 4, 11-8, and 11-6 in the top seeded match. In the second seed match Carter Robitaille won the first three games 11-6, 11-7, 15-13 against Aubrey Lawrence. Michael Thompson then won his best of 3 match against Jean-Pierre Van Der Merwe scoring 11-7, 9-11, and 11-7.

Canada will face Sweden today, Wednesday August 20, at 3:00 pm with David Baillargeon taking on top seeded Pontus Rengbo. Jarryd Osbourne will play Tor Christoffersen while Michael Thompson faces Alexander Lundqvist.
