Canada Out Of Medal Contention At World Junior Men’s Team Championship

    Ottawa (ON) – Canada started the team competition at the World Junior Men’s Championship in Windhoek, Namibia this past Saturday.  In the first round they faced France with David Baillargeon beating Auguste Dussourd in three games to take the first seed match. Carter Robitaille lost the second seed match in a tight five games to Enzo Corigliano. Jarryd Osborne then faced Benjamin Aubert in the third seed match, losing in three close games.

    Canada then had to beat the 3rd ranked England Team on Sunday in order to stay in medal contention.  Carter Robitaille faced George Parker in the first seed match, coming up just short in three games straight. In the second seed match Jarryd Osborne faced Lyell Fuller, losing the first three games. Michael Thompson took the third seed match to five games against James Evans, unfortunately losing the match.

    Team Canada will now play on Tuesday August 19 at 3:00 pm for 13th position.
