Shahier Razik, Canada's #1 ranked singles won his match over US #1 Julian Illingworth when Illingworth was forced to retire from the match due to injury. Canada who recently defeated Mexico at the Men's World Team Championships in Paderborn Germany, will take on Mexico Friday at 3:00 pm.

Earlier today the Canadian Women's Squash Team advanced to the Gold Medal match defeating host nation Mexico 2-1. Stephanie Edmison of Toronto sealed the win for Canada with a convincing 11-8, 11-2, 11-2 victory over Nayelly Hernandez. Sam Cornett of Deep River, defeated Imelda Salazar (11-6, 11-8, 13-11), while Miranda Ranieri of Waterloo lost to World #14 Samantha Teran of Mexico (11-5, 11-4, 11-2). The Canadian Women will play Colombia who they defeated in round robin play 3-0 earlier in the week, Friday at 11:00 am.
With the victories today, Squash is assured of 6 medals in the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara. Earlier in the week, Stephanie Edmison & Miranda Ranieri won the Bronze Medal in Women's Doubles Squash, Miranda Ranieri and Shawn Delierre won the Bronze Medals in Women's Singles & Men's Singles Squash respectively, while Samantha Cornett claimed the Silver Medal for Canada in Women's Singles Squash.
