Squash Canada has named the 24-athlete roster for the 2017 Battle of the Border that will compete next week from August 3-5. In its third year as a Squash Canada National Team event, the ‘Battle of the Border’ is a three-day event that sees Canada face off against the neighbours to the south showcasing some of North America's top junior talent.
Hosted by the White Oaks Resort and Spa (Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON), the Battle of the Border features six age groups (Girls U13, U15, U17 and Boys U13, U15, U17)

The Battle of the Border is a unique development opportunity for some of Canada’s rising stars to represent their country at a young age. Looking to defend the 2016 win (for complete results from the 2016 Battle of the Border, visit: http://squash.ca/en/news/team-canada-wins-2016-battle-border), Team Canada’s roster features 7 returning players from 2016 who will lead the charge for the red and white.
Squash Canada 2017 Battle of the Border roster:
Canada's Emma Jinks (who won the 2017 Canadian Girls U19 title at the age of 16) will make her third straight appearance in the Battle and will be hitting the White Oak courts just days after returning from the 2017 World Junior Championships in Tauranga, New Zealand. On the boys’ side, 2017 Canadian Boys U17 Champion, George Crowne will also make his third appearance for the Canadian squad. Amongst the talented veterans are some exciting rising stars like 2017 Canadian Girls U13 Finalist, Iman Shaheen, 2017 Canadian Boys U13 Finalist Alexander Yuzpe, 2017 Canadian Girls U15 Champion Lucia Bicknell and Finalist Molly Chadwick and Boys U15 Champion and Finalist, Nikhil Ismail and Dylan Deverill.
Experience, talent and passion will drive the Canadian squad as they battle it out to defend the title.
