Canadians Showcase Talent at Dutch Junior Open

    Amsterdam (NLD) – Sixteen Canadians traveled to Amsterdam this past weekend to compete in the Dutch Junior Open at Frans Otten Stadium. A total of 377 players took part in this event that comprised of eight events: Boys U13, U15, U17, U19 and Girls U13, U15, U17 and U19.

    Amsterdam (NLD) – Sixteen Canadians traveled to Amsterdam this past weekend to compete in the Dutch Junior Open at Frans Otten Stadium. A total of 377 players took part in this event that comprised of eight events: Boys U13, U15, U17, U19 and Girls U13, U15, U17 and U19.

    Highlighting Canada’s performance was Dylan Deverill from Cambridge, ON. The 12 year-old made it to the Finals of the Boys U13 event that featured 64 particpants. Deverill fell to Samuel Todd of England in the Finals 3-0 (11-8, 11-1, 11-4).  Deverill was also just coming off a third place finish at the 2015 Pioneer Cup.     Nicole Kendall finished ninth in the Girls U17 competition that featured the largest number of competitors in the Girls events. Kendall lost 2-3 (11-7, 12-10, 9-11, 4-11, 5-11) to England’s Jasmine Hutton, who went on to win the event.

    · Liam Jinks finished 14th in the Boys U13 event

    · Evan Chu finished 46th in the Boys U13 event

    · James Flynn finished 10th in the Boys U15 event

    · Michael Greenwood finished 40th in the Boys U15 event

    · Marlow Benson finished 19th in the Girls U15 event

    · Danica Deverill finished 25th in the Girls U15 event

    · Connor Jinks finished 14th in the Boys U17 event

    · Justin Ghaeli finished 19th in the Boys U17 event

    · Liam Leidekker finished 58th in the Boys U17 event

    · Emma Jinks finished 11th in the Girls U17 event

    · Heather McLachlan finished 25th in the Girls U17 event

    · Rahul Sehrawat finished 18th in the Boys U19 event

    · Harris Lechtzier finished 38th in the Boys U19 event

    · Sarah Hopton finished 23rd in the Girls U19 event
