Squash Canada Names Team for the Pan American Junior Championships in Brazil

     

    OTTAWA (ON) – Squash Canada today named its Junior Men’s Team for the upcoming Pan American Junior Championships in Belo Horizonte, Brazil from June 17 – 23, 2013.  The team is comprised of:

     

    OTTAWA (ON) – Squash Canada today named its Junior Men’s Team for the upcoming Pan American Junior Championships in Belo Horizonte, Brazil from June 17 – 23, 2013.  The team is comprised of:

    Calvin Wren, 18, from Gatineau Quebec, plays out of Club Sportheque and is currently ranked 2nd in Canada in the U19 division.  Recently he finished in 3rd place in the Boys U19 division at the Canadian Junior Squash Championships in Richmond, BC defeating fellow teammate Michael Thompson in the Bronze Medal match. 

    Michael Thompson, 17, from Vancouver, British Columbia, plays out of Jericho Tennis Club and is currently ranked 4th  in Canada in the U19 division.  At the recent and recently finished in 4th place in the Boys U19 division at the Canadian Junior Squash Championships losing to Calvin Wren in the Bronze Medal match. 

    Jarryd Osborne, 17 years old from Kingston, Ontario, plays out of the Garrison Squash Club and is currently ranked 5th  in Canada in the U19 division.  Osborne, finished in the top 8 in the Boys U19 at the recently completed Canadian Junior Squash Championships in Richmond, BC. 

    Devin Hinchey, 17 years old from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, plays out of the Yellow Knife Racquet Club and is currently ranked 7th in Canada in the U19 division.  Hinchey finished in the top 8 in the Boys U19 at the recently completed Canadian Junior Squash Championships in Richmond, BC. 

    The Canadian Team will be coached by Squash Canada Junior Men’s National Coach Jonathan Hill of Calgary, AB who led Canada to a 3rd place finish at the 2010 World Jr. Team Championships in Ecuador and 7th place at the 2012 World Jr. Team Championships in Qatar.  Jonathan Hill is the Racquets Director at World Health Club in Calgary.
