Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club hosted over 300 of Canada’s junior and elite senior squash players for the Connor, Clark & Lunn Private Capital 2025 Canadian Junior and Open Championships. The tournament brought together emerging talents and established athletes from across the country for five days of high-calibre competition.
The Men’s and Women’s Open divisions saw new champions hoist the trophy as both Nicole Bunyan (BC) and Liam Marrison (BC) captured their first-ever Canadian Championship titles. Congratulations to silver medallists Zeina Zein (ON) and Salah Eltorgman (ON) and to bronze medallists Giselle Delgado (BC) and Karim Michael (QC). “This title has been high on my list for quite some time, and it’s extra special as it’s my first-ever national championship,” said Bunyan. “I loved having the support of the crowd, my family, and friends, and I feel very lucky and proud to be Canadian and part of this amazing community.”
Marrison, Men’s Champion added: “Winning a National Title has been a dream of mine for a really long time and I couldn’t have asked for a better venue, crowd and atmosphere.”
On the junior side, Faazil Khan (ON) bookended his junior career, winning the U19 title 6 years after hoisting the U13 trophy, while Wing Kai Gladys Ho (BC) reversed last year’s U17 result, upending 4-time champion Joelle Kim (BC) to win the U19 title. Joining them as 2025 National Junior Champions are U17’s Sasha Lee (ON) and Calder Murray (AB), U15’s Obie Ryding (ON) and Veera Dhaliwal (BC), U13’s Gabriel Chen (ON) and Shirley Chen (ON), and U11’s Eugenie Cao (BC) and Wali Maqsood (ON).
